Terms of Service

Effective date: October 9, 2026

DOCUMENTATION - TERMS-OF-SERVICE.TXT

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of webminesweeper.com (the "Service"), operated by the Web Minesweeper team ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Web Minesweeper provides a free, browser-based version of the classic Minesweeper puzzle game, along with related informational content. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial entertainment.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction) and that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

3. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, code, and the Web Minesweeper name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use of the game as intended.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the operation of the Service or its servers;
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract content from the Service, or to manipulate game results or leaderboards (where available);
  • Use auto-solver programs, scripts, macros, or any form of automation to play the game or to produce leaderboard entries that were not played by a human — the "auto-flag" option built into the game is the only assisted play the leaderboard tolerates, and games played with it are flagged as such;
  • Reproduce the Service or substantial parts of its content on another website or application;
  • Frame or deep-link the Service in a way that misrepresents its origin or affiliation.

5. Local Data and Game Records

Your settings (auto-flag assist, score uploading, and an optional nickname) and your best times are stored locally in your browser. When the Upload scores option is enabled, each finished game may be recorded on the leaderboard together with its difficulty, start time, duration, auto-flag usage, result, and the nickname you set. You can turn uploading off at any time in the game controls; after that, future games are not reported and nothing about them leaves your device. Because local data lives on your device, clearing your browser data will remove it, and we cannot restore it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Third-Party Content and Advertising

The Service may display advertisements or link to third-party websites. We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for it. Your interactions with advertisers or third-party sites are solely between you and those parties.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

9. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; the effective date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction located therein.
